Maureen Kavanaugh offers seven separate Walking Tours of Historic Downtown St. Louis as well as Walking Tours of the Soulard, Lafayette Square, Central West End and Benton Park Neighborhoods. Both half-day and full-day tours can be arranged.
Standard Downtown Tours include: The Eastern Central Corridor (Citygarden east to the Mississippi River), The Western Central Corridor (Union Station east to Citygarden), The Canyon of Washington Avenue, Market Street: The First Street in St. Louis, Skyscraper Central, Walking the Colonial Village of Saint Louis, and The Civil War in St. Louis. Any of Maureen’s Historic Downtown St. Louis Walking Tours may be customized for your specific needs or interests. If the design of the tour involves significant research outside of the areas in which Maureen specializes, additional costs may be involved.
Customized Tours for Conferences, Social Studies, Art or Photography Classes, Exchange Students, Scout Groups, Family Reunion Groups are available upon request. A case in point is The History of Transportation in St. Louis from 1764 – 2014 Tour that Maureen developed for the Missouri Department of Transportation Conference in the spring of 2014.
During 2013 Maureen conducted The Centennial Coach and Walking Tours for the City of Richmond Heights, the research and creation of which was a five year process.
